Eric Mahoney is Associate Vice President of Science Policy and Research Programs at the Personalized Medicine Coalition (PMC), where he supports the organization’s science policy initiatives and strategic programs advancing personalized medicine.
Prior to joining PMC, Eric served at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER), where he led complex regulatory and scientific initiatives supporting generic drug development and review operations. In this role, he collaborated across multiple FDA offices and stakeholders to advance regulatory policy, scientific review processes, and program management activities.
Before joining FDA, Eric conducted biomedical and translational research at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and Columbia University, contributing to studies focused on cancer biology, molecular genetics, and health disparities. He also supported academic research programs spanning neuroscience, regenerative medicine, orthopaedics, and translational drug development and taught undergraduate and graduate-level science coursework.
Eric holds a Master of Science degree in Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry, Immunology, and Microbiology from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University. He also completed Duke University’s Certified Project Management Professional (DCPM) program.
