Membership dues account for more than 75 percent of PMC's revenue. Members of PMC participate on our committees, attend our events, generate networking and business development opportunities, and, most importantly, contribute to a unique organization that is positioned to ensure that public opinion and policy pave the way for personalized medicine.
The Coalition's strategic plan for 2018 reflects an enhanced portfolio of programs designed to underline personalized medicine’s ability to deliver value to patients and, equally important, make the health system more efficient and cost-effective. To meet the opportunities and challenges we face in this new era, PMC has hired a new Vice President for Public Policy, Cynthia Bens, and plans to decrease dues for patient advocacy groups in recognition of their important role in the ongoing dialogue about the future of personalized medicine. Our members' support in 2018 will allow us to increase the volume and quality of our work in keeping with the growth of personalized medicine and our community's expectations that we define and shape the field.
In that context, the Coalition is also pleased to announce the launch of a new virtual member community, Connection Point, which our members can use in 2018 to register for events, pay invoices, join committees, and network with each other. Our membership team is constantly working to improve the quality of member interactions. With that goal in mind, we believe this new platform will better support our members' needs.
