PMC Hosts Congressional Briefing on How Medical Progress Happens

The Personalized Medicine Coalition today held a Congressional Briefing, Personalized Medicine: How Medical Progress Happens, hosted by the Office of Senator Tom Carper (D-DE), to a standing-room-only audience, on how personalized medicine can contribute to increasing quality and decreasing overall health care cost. 

Edward Abrahams, President of the Personalized Medicine Coalition, said, "PMC hopes that, even in this era of fiscal constraint, Congress will put in place policies that promote personalized medicine and encourage innovation so patients in the future enjoy better and more effective health care – at potentially lower overall cost."

To discuss the policy challenges as well as examine the role pharmaceutical and diagnostic industries can play in advancing the use of personalized medicine to improve patient care, the briefing featured the following experts:
