The Fairbanks Institute for Healthy Communities is a not-for-profit organization founded on a vision of utilizing Indiana’s unique population and health information capabilities to create a novel research platform (INbank™) that would facilitate translational research and the development of personalized medicine. The power of INbank™ comes from connecting biospecimens collected in longitudinal studies to health outcomes data from the Indiana Network for Patient Care, the nation’s most data rich health data repository. Data linked to INbank™ biospecimens can be retrospectively and prospectively updated on over 8,000 different clinical, laboratory and outcome variables to enhance drug development, biomarker discovery, validation studies and the development of companion diagnostics. INbank™ biospecimens and data are available for use in academic, government and commercial research studies.
