PMC Joins AACR at the Rally for Medical Research

Washington, DC (April 8, 2013)

Members of the Personalized Medicine Coalition (PMC) today joined the efforts of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) along with nearly 200 other national organizations and institutions on the steps of the Carnegie Library in Washington DC for the Rally for Medical Research, a unified call to action to raise awareness about the critical need for an increased investment in the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to improve health, spur progress, inspire more hope and save more lives.

PMC supports the efforts of AACR to call attention to the devastating effects the planned cuts to NIH's budget will have on the future of medicine. "Without question, these cuts will slow progress in moving medicine from a one size-fit-all/trial and error world to one based on the right treatment for the right patient at the right time," said Edward Abrahams, president of the Personalized Medicine Coalition, an education and advocacy organization based in Washington, D.C.
