Member Type: Research & Educational Institutions
The IIPM was established in January 2011 as a free-standing Institute within Indiana University supported by its schools of Medicine, Informatics and Nursing and by the Indiana University Simon Cancer Center. $11 million of support has been organized to recruit new investigators, train and educate clinicians and scientists at all levels and catalyze both outstanding research in personalized medicine and high quality clinical care. Important resources within the Institute include the IU Simon Cancer Center, the Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, the Indiana CTSI and the great depth of training and expertise in clinical therapeutics at Indiana University. These include training programs in obstetric, pediatric adult and geriatric clinical therapeutics, all of which exploit the science of biomarkers and pharmacogenomics to improve clinical care across the broad spectrum of disease.
